MaDA’s Programs and Services:
Supervised Visitation
MaDA’s Visitation Coaches provide a safe, caring environment where parents and children can build connections. Visits are provided in three formats: observational, interactive and therapeutic, as requested by the referring social worker. Parents have opportunity to be focused on the child through play, activities, or bringing an approved meal/snack. The visit setting encourages positive interaction, without reference to other family members or case details, and parents get to practice modeling a positive attitude in the face of adversity/life challenges. Attitude is key, so Visitation Coaches challenge caregivers to encourage the child(ren) to have fun, allow the visits to take place without interrogating the child afterward, discussing the case, nor speaking negatively about the parents/family. The primary goal is to allow the child(ren) to experience safety in a comfortable, neutral setting wherein they can bond appropriately to the parents and each person can build healthy relationships. (This service is provided via CFS contracted referrals only.)
